Behind the Scenes: A Week Inside the Calibre Workshop

When people walk through their finished home, they usually admire the view through the glass, the smooth glide of a sliding door, or the clean finish around a window.

What they don’t see is everything that happened before installation.

At Calibre, every project begins long before our installation team arrives on site. Behind every perfectly fitted screen, door, or window is a workshop full of skilled craftsmen, careful planning, and rigorous quality control.

Monday – Planning Every Detail

Every successful project starts with accurate information.

Our team reviews the final site measurements, confirms materials, checks glass specifications, hardware selections, colours, and any custom requirements unique to the project.

One incorrect measurement can affect an entire installation, so we take this stage seriously.

Tuesday – Precision Cutting

Raw aluminium profiles arrive at our workshop and are carefully measured before being cut using precision equipment.

Every cut must be accurate. Millimetres matter.

This is where each opening begins to take shape.

Wednesday – Fabrication

Our technicians assemble each frame by hand, ensuring everything is square, strong, and ready for years of daily use.

Tracks, corners, reinforcement, locks, rollers, and hardware are all fitted with precision before moving to the next stage.

Nothing leaves this area until it meets our standards.

Thursday – Quality Control

Before any product reaches a client’s home, it goes through multiple quality inspections.

We check:

  • Measurements
  • Frame alignment
  • Hardware operation
  • Roller movement
  • Lock functionality
  • Surface finish
  • Overall appearance

If something isn’t right, we fix it before it ever reaches the site.

Our goal is simple: install it once, install it properly.

Friday – Preparing for Installation

Each project is carefully packed, labelled, and organised so our installation teams know exactly where every component belongs.

Organisation reduces mistakes and keeps installations running efficiently.

Installation Day

Installation is more than simply fitting a window or door into an opening.

Our installers level every frame, secure it correctly, apply high-quality sealants, test every moving component, and make the fine adjustments needed for smooth operation.

Sometimes these final adjustments take longer than clients expect—but they are often the most important part of the entire project.

The Final Inspection

Before we consider a project complete, we inspect every opening one final time.

We check alignment, operation, seals, locks, hardware, finishes, and overall presentation.

Only when everything meets our standards do we hand the project over to our client.

Why It Matters

Quality doesn’t happen by accident.

It comes from experienced people, proven processes, attention to detail, and taking pride in every stage of the journey.

At Calibre, we believe our responsibility doesn’t begin on installation day—it begins the moment raw aluminium enters our workshop.

Because great windows and doors aren’t simply installed.

They’re crafted.

Calibre – Crafted with Precision. Installed with Pride. Built to Last.
